Frequently Asked Questions

Have Some Questions about WholeBody?

What is a physical therapist?

According to the American Physical Therapy Association, Physical therapists (PTs) are highly-educated, licensed health care professionals who can help patients reduce pain and improve or restore mobility – in many cases without expensive surgery and often reducing the need for long-term use of prescription medications and their side effects.

Physical therapists can teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so that they will achieve long-term health benefits. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan, using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, PTs work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

How many visits can I expect?

We typically see our patients 1 day per week (2 days per week for those in severe pain) for 6 to 8 weeks, but this may differ for those with chronic pain or those who are being treated for multiple body parts. Depending on your specific needs, we may only see you once every 2 to 6 weeks.

Do I need a PT order from my doctor?

No, you do not. As of August 2018, a doctor’s order is no longer required for PT services. We will, of course, inform your doctor of your plan of care. If you already have an order for PT, we can still treat you, but it is no longer mandatory to have one.

What should I wear?

You will be moving and exercising for a least part of your treatment so we suggest that you wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.

What should I bring?

You need your new patient paperwork and your FSA/HSA card, if you choose to use them for payment. If you have a doctor’s order, you will need to bring that as well, but you do not need an order to receive treatment.

What forms of payment does WholeBody accept?

WholeBody accepts payment in the form of cash, check, credit card, Apple Pay, Flex Spending Account, or Health Savings Account. If you have out of network benefits through your insurance, you may be able to submit for reimbursement through your insurance company.

Where are you located?

Our clinic is located at 406 West US Highway 40, Troy, IL 62294.
